Desktop Migration

IT Infrastructure Management
Ajilon is also contract to manage the development of mainframe applications from analysis through planning, design, construction and testing to Implementation, training and maintenance. We are currently involved in database design, programming, testing and Implementation. We also have been required to develop PC workbench products with the code subsequently migrated to the mainframe.

We are required to work within the environment of employing PC office products for documentation, planning and communication, this will be used at the clients advantage of freeing up their Internal resources to attend to better areas.

The standard Ajilon project methodology was employed i.e business requirements definition, functional specifications, design specifications, build; test deploy.

Since the late 90’s we have also been contracting at a major blue chip xxxx. During that time we have upgraded the ordering system which uses a CICS/DB2 platform. Development is done on the PC using Microfocus Cobol, XDB and PC CICS. The code is then ported up to the mainframe for system and integration testing before production implementation.

We were initially involved in the development of this new system, which was implemented in October 1999. We then assisted with callout during the implementation phase and thereafter have been involved in the maintenance and enhancement of the system. Areas in which we have been actively involved include Order Processing, Vehicle Accounting and Dealer Planning (quota allocation).

We now work on the IT Support help desk, providing user assistance as required. In addition we are involved in Cobol program maintenance as well as new development. Achievements include the development of an online search facility which allows a user to define their own search criteria (using dynamic SQL) and undertaking successful performance tuning tasks.
